Item Description
RPPC of the "One Man and a Mule Railroad on Mt. Lowe, near Los Angeles, California.World War I veteran Ed Tobin built a cabin about two miles from the Alpine Tavern on Mt. Lowe. He realized that it would be easier to move materials along a light rail line, and after the line was built, he could haul passengers to Morning Glory Point. The line started operating in 1920. The mule, Herbert ate much of the leftover food from the Tavern, resulting in extreme flatulence. So Herbert, seen in the photo, _pushed_ the passengers to keep his "business end" way from the passengers. The rail line operated until 1935, just as the Tavern and Mt. Lowe Incline Railway ceased operations in 1936.
Card is in Excellent condition. Thanks.
