Item Description

Burlington Zephyr. In May of 1936, the Burlington introduced the first of a series of Zephyr streamlined passenger trains to the public with a demonstration run from Denver Colorado to Chicago with an average speed of 77.6 mph. 26 years later, the camera observes the "Pioneer Zephyr" near the end of its active days in Lincoln, Nebraska before being placed on display in the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
