ppound (1358)postage09/13/2024 09:08:50Hello,
I am beig asked to pay 22.94 USD to post a single postcard to Australai.
This seems excessive to say the least. Do you offer combined postage if I buy some more cards.
thanks

Re: postage09/13/2024 21:32:17The postage stated is the cheapest legal means to send merchandise to your country. We do not make a dime on shipping ever. Hip actually even takes a fee from us from the shipping cost so we actually have to cover the difference. We are happy to combine, but just keep in mind that the decalred value will be the combined value of all items purchased. MM

Re: postage09/14/2024 00:16:51Hello,
I fully understand you are not in any way profiteering here. Are you using a third party postal agent? That is the only way (esp. on eBay) that such over the top postage happens in my experience.
Are you ok to cancel this sale then.
If not I will pay of course.
thanks, for considering,
cheers

Re: postage12/11/2024 10:13:52Not sure why you made a false claim in your feedback you left me but we reported it to Hip as you stated you didn't ask to cancel this which is NOT true as your email stated exactly that. "Are you ok to cancel this sale then", which is exactly what we did. False feedback claims are against Hip's policy.

Re: postage12/11/2024 20:09:02I did not make a false claim at all.
I stand by my feedback. I was also negotiating in good faith.
"The default postage amounted to over $24 USD for a single postcard to be sent, I questioned if that could be reduced and despite offering to pay if not, the sale was cancelled without a further reply, and misleading feedback was then left regarding this interaction. As indicated by my otherwise excellent feedback." -
Re: postage12/12/2024 09:17:15Not true and HIP can see that. You specifically stated that I should cancel if we were NOT going to break the law to illegally ship for the $3-$7 which you stated people ship to you for. As we stated in emails to you anybody shipping at that rate from the US is BREAKING the LAW, which it's clear you already know. Once someone asks us to break the law to ship via an illegal means you void the sale as well. It's all stated right here in HIP's email system for them to see. You waited days as well to even pay, which you did not do. You are just giving HIP, and us more evidence. We didn't leave a negative in good faith, but you did.
It's very obvious after talking to others who sell to you that you try and get sellers to put your items into regular envelopes to avoid import fees and the legally required shipping forms just to save you money. You even wrote thaT to other sellers stating such as we've now seen the emails. We clearly spelled this all out to you in numerous emails prior to your requested cancellation.
You are risking sellers businesses just to save yourself money. And you are not telling people that it's illegal to do so as it's very obvious to us, and the Australian Border Forces that, that is what is going on here. Not cool to risk a sellers status just to save yourself money. Just FYI we talked to others who sell to you and we have now contacted the Australian Post Office, who referred us to the Australian Border Force for import fees/Tax evasion for purchases made from Hip and eBay that you are obvious not pay tax/fees on when they are brought into your country.
We sent them many email copies, and etc. We were told that The Australian Border Force has the ability to see your purchases on HIP, and eBay, and they can compare them to import fees paid for those purchases. HIP is also going to see this. The stated rate as we told you several times is the cheapest LEGAL way to send an item, and even after we stated that you still asked for cheaper means. Then you admited to getting people to send your items via an ILLEGAL means via a $3-$7 correspondence only rate (no merchandise is legally able to be sent that way, which you know). According to the Australian Border Force this is all illegal, and is a fineable offense at the very least. It is also against eBay's, and HIP's user agreement to use the site to break the law or to get sellers to unknowling break the law. This isn't the first time we have dealt with tax/fee buyers. -
Re: postage12/12/2024 21:36:54I'm sorry you feel that way, but what I actually was asking was if you were using a third party postal service (common on eBay), and hence the surprisingly large fee of nearly 30 USD to send a single postcard. If that is the only 'legal' way for you to send a postcard, that is a sad state of affairs, and is surely untenable for such small commercial transactions, but I understand. I was certainly not asking you to break any law. All the best. Onwards!
