A RARE 1907-1915 Gettysburg PA The Wheatfield Showing Round Tops in Distance Civil War DB divided back era Antique Postcard.
"The Wheat-Field
At The Wheat-Field there occurred what is called the "Whirlpool of the Battle." The scene as the men advanced and then retired, fought in a circle, and in and about each other in deadly confusion. Back and forth for seven times make the title no misnomer. It is truly said of the Wheatfield that upon no other place of equal extent on the American Continent were so many human lives lost and so much human blood shed."
