1917 her majesty queen liliuokalani of hawaii seated in a gray dress colorized post card --- image of a dignified older woman in a lace-trimmed, fan-patterned, gray dress with neatly pulled back hair and drapery in the background --- on reverse --- 93 published by hawaii  south seas curio co., honolulu at left --- r-6638 printed at center top --- hawaiian royal coat of arms at top of divider --- historical note at left begins, "h. M. Queen liliuokalani [acceded] to the crown in 1891, and was deposed in 1893."

It continues, "in 1895 there was an insurrection for her restoration and during that year she was confined for nine months in her former palace; during which time she formally denounced all her claims to the throne." --- dated at lower left hilo, hawaii, territory of hawaii, march 22, 1917 but unposted --- diagonal crease at lower right corner (from front) --- slight soiling --- slight wear at edges and corners --- divided back;
