Up for auction is a beautiful Picture postcard cover from Japan postcard depicts two naked men, presumably German POWs marking off their years of captivity before being released back to Germany in time for Christmas and New Year. Produced in the Germany prisoner of war, POW, in the Bando POW camp . In very good condition .Priced to sell. Mint never mailed. Extremely rare item produced by POWs during the war. Color postcards are scarce due to wartime shortages of color ink..As one of the top dealers in POW related material from around the world and nearly all conflicts, I will note that pictorial depictions of naked men are quite rare. Rare to see such a homoerotic element in postcards being made for family members and also approved by camp POW leaders.
