George Dudley 1951–1993
A prolific artist whose photography and painting reflected his queer community and life, as well as exemplifying his Southern and urban roots. He was born in Hobbs, N.M. and grew up in Columbus, GA and Alabama. He received his BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a MFA from the Maryland Institute Graduate School of Painting, which resulted in gallery and museum shows in Baltimore and Washington D.C.. He soon after moved to Manhattan and founded the company, The American Postcard Company, and the drag queen fundraiser "Night of a Thousand Gowns" in 1986, which raises money for LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations and continues to this very day.
All cards I am selling are considered New Old Stock and have been stored in stacks unless specifically mentioned. Vintage postcards and greeting cards may have small differences I.E; yellowing of paper, worn edges, dogears/corner blunting. Basic wear from storage of vintage cards. I will always send the best quality card I have. The picture is of a postcard like the one you will receive not necessarily the one you will receive. Unless I have previously specified. I will never send a bent, ripped or damaged card unless specifically mentioned. I always inspect every item I send out for quality and ship the items with care, shipping items how I would like to receive an item. Please message me with any questions or concerns. Thank you.
