Antique Mexico City Postcard Calle de Plateros by Jacobo Kalb
The section between Isabel la Católica street and Zócalo (Constitution Square) was known as "Calle de Plateros" (Silversmith's road) after the silver jewellery workshops and stores established in that block.

Most of the postcards I list are older and most show signs of age and/or use that will be visible in the enlarged pictures.
Jacobo Kalb arrived in Mexico from Austria at the beginning of the 20th century. His family owned the Iturbide Curio Store located in the basement of the Hotel Iturbide in Mexico City . Kalb published several series of postcards under the signatures Iturbide Curio Store, JCS and J.K. The JK series is about three hundred images, at least 177 of which were published with undivided backs under the Universal Postal Union.
