CHAU3350 A beautiful and lavish fold open dinner menu for the Apothecaries Society London for their 1959 diiner in London - The centre pages (not shown) detail all the menu choices and list of speakers for Her Majesty The Queen - the inside cover is image 1 and image 2 is the luxury card cover with raised embossed regalia on the front in metallic gold and it is in truly outstanding condition.
_This has come from the private collection from the estate of Doctor Elston Grey-Turner CBE MC TD (16 August 1916 20 January 1984) who was a British medical doctor who served in World War II and was on the staff of the British Medical Association for many years. He joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served as regimental medical officer to the 2nd Battalion of the Coldstream Guards 19421945. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration, and also the Military Cross._
The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London is one of the livery companies of the City of London. It is one of the largest livery companies (with over 1,600 members in 2012) and ranks 58th in their order of precedence. The society is a member of the London Museums of Health & Medicine and its guild church is the Church of St Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe. The Society's modern roles include educational, charitable and social activities, in addition to supporting the City of London, its governance and the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
