Item Description

This postcard entitled 'auburn, n.Y. Post office' was never mailed although there is some manuscript on the front right side (which fortunately dates the card for us: dec. 25, 1907).

Printed narrative on back: 'auburn's fine post office building is located on genesee street, at the west corner of green street, and opposite court street. It was erected about 1886 at a cost of about $250,000. The postal receipts amount to about $70,000 annually, and are increasing every year.'

Post card id: 'raphael tuck & sons' post card series no. 2490, "auburn, n.Y." art publishers to their majesties the king and queen. Printed in germany, rts artistic series.'

Corners minimally bumped; mild corner crease bottom right (as looking from the picture side); two scuffs from removed hinges and a tape stain from previous mounting address side (see scan).
