Item Description

This Picture Post Card depicting The Union Jack Flag, a Battleship, a horseshoe, flowers, and two hands touching each other was, given the lack of an address and postage, handed from a wife to her soldier husband during World War I.

Printed on the Picture Side:
"Good Luck and Safe Return.
Though the War / Be long, I wish you luck; / If things go wrong, God / Send you Pluck."

The message, written in ink, reads:

"Dear Alb. Just a card wishing you every luck & success & hoping the war will soon be all over. From your Everloving & Evertrue Wife & Babes.
XXXXX / Good Bye & God Bless You. XXX"
