This late 19th-century postcard, published by Stengel & Co. (series no. 2356), features the Walther von der Vogelweide Fountain Monument in Bozen (Bolzano), Austria-Hungary. The monument commemorates Walther von der Vogelweide, a renowned German poet and composer of the classical Minnesang tradition. The scene captures the iconic fountain with a mountainous backdrop.
A handwritten message dated April 6, 1898, is addressed to Fräulein Dora Banerschubert in Munich. The card was mailed with a 2-kreuzer Austro-Hungarian stamp and includes a clear postmark.
