snw0202 Antique 1842 letter from Dumfries in Scotland all about the Bays Hill Factory in Cheltenham and its closure and legal matters related to money owed. It is a full letter written in hand and includes the penny red which was posted from Dumfries but appears to have a Cheltenham 1842 frank - has very small border piece tear - some aging and folded where originally posted but very good condition - mentions the owner Captain Newall who was clearly a military leader- the former owner saw this as valuable as he had it stored in protective plastic with the hand written letter all written in typed text which he has carefully prepared that I will also add for the new owner to save handling the 1842 original.
