Item Description
This one-cent King Edward VII Government Stamped Postal Card (as opposed to 'post card') was mailed from Dartmouth to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1911 and was cancelled by a duplex with a barred elliptical killer.The blank side was hand-painted and pictures a yawning boy holding a candle who exclaims "Too tired to write."
The message on the other side mentions that the sender had a friend paint the design, although she doesn't provide the name of the artist who included their initials below the picture ('W.T.').
Halifax receiving machine cancel on picture side.
Light horizontal or vertical lines in the images are scanner artifact !
