STB08 This is stunning collectors official limited Battle Of Britain first day cover hand signed by Donald James Hulbert where the signature rests perfectly accompanying the special hand commemorative franks. This comes with full lifetime COA as the signing has been officially certified by the publishers with full hallmarking and authenticity of the series further detailed in absolute brand new mint condition. You wont source better. This was limited to only 30 autographed and carries the gold metallic seal on the reverse confirming this individually numbered 30 from the series (see image 2).
_Called up on 1st September 1939, he was posted to 5 SFTS on 6th November 1939 to complete his training and convert to Hurricanes. He joined 257 Squadron on 21st May 1940. On 19th July he shared in the destruction of a Do17. Hulbert's Hurricane, V7317, was severely damaged in combat over the Thames Estuary on 7th September and he made a forced-landing near Sittingbourne Towards the end of the Battle Hulbert was posted to 501 Squadron at Kenley Commissioned from Warrant Officer in April 1944, he was released in early 1946 as a Flying Officer. Hulbert joined the RAFVR in 1948 and served with it for some years. He died on 27th February 2006._
