BBF* This beautiful rarely found and most specialist modern origin quirky postcard is a unique and wonderful souvenir to Gwendolyn Elizabeth Brooks who was an American poet, author, and teacher. Her work often dealt with the personal celebrations and struggles of ordinary people in her community. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry on May 1, 1950, for Annie Allen, making her the first African American to receive a Pulitzer Prize. The souvenir is a stunning contemporary animated painting of her and reverse has statistics including her birthday etc together with one of her most memorable quotes unused in brand new mint condition.
