box eph This is an antique silk woven souvenir from circa 50 years ago of the character of Alas Poor Yorick from the Shakespeare play Hamlet. It is approximately 6.4" x 4.5" and image 1 (above) shows the front of the card but it is opened to reveal the character in full - the front has a theatre curtain style display - It reads on reverse "This picture is No 1 in the series of Shakesparian characters designed and woven by he Jacquard Processs by William Franklin & Sons Coventry" - it was a limited edition and the images above do not do this silk creation justice - it is in outstanding condition
