A modern postcard of a man strapped in the electric chair at in the Nebraska State Penitentiary, wearing a blindfold and mouth cover. The man was an office worker at the Penitentiary, and the picture was taken in the 1930s. The most famous of the 15 men who died in this chair was Charles Starkweather, executed on June 25, 1959.
NOTE: This is not the postcard that was sold in the Penitentiary's gift shop. This postcard was published by Vintage Images in the 1990s. There is a humorous caption on the back: _The Hot Seat. Jim had not paid proper attention to the bank's warning that "Premature Withdrawal May Result In Substantial Penalties."_ It is 3¾ x 6 inches (9.5x15cm) size, slightly smaller than a typical postcard. It is unused and in Near Mint condition.
