STB013x This is stunning Benhams collectors official limited D-Day first day cover hand signed by historic wartime nurse Nancy Wake where the signature rests perfectly accompanying the special hand commemorative franks. This comes with full lifetime COA as the signing has been officially certified by the publishers with full hallmarking and authenticity hand numbered from the series which was only 50 for worldwide distribution in mint condition. _Nancy Grace Augusta Wake, AC, GM, also known as Madame Fiocca and Nancy Fiocca, was a nurse and journalist who joined the French Resistance and later the Special Operations Executive during World War II, and briefly pursued a post-war career as an intelligence officer in the Air Ministry.She received the George Medal, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, British War Medal 1939-45, French Officer of the Legion of Honour, French Croix de Guerre with Star and two Palms, US Medal for Freedom with Palm and French Medaille de la Resistance for her courageous endeavours. Wake's medals are on display in the Second World War gallery at the Australian War Memorial._
