I am selling a collection of postcards from a 40 year collection! It includes Real Photo postcards, artist signed, auto racing, motorcycles, circus related postcards, Halloween postcards and more! BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR SOME UNIQUE CARDS!
This is a beauty! IT IS A VINTAGE RPPC REAL PHOTO POST CARD. It shows an image of a young man, identified here as _MEIER STEINBRINK._ The card was published by a NY City newspaper called _THE BROOKLYN STANDARD UNION_. It touts the legal experience of the individual and recommends him for the position of ATTORNEY GENERAL IN NEW YORK IN 1912.
Card front is printed and reads _MEIER STEINBRINK REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL, FROM THE STANDARD UNION, BROOKLYN'S MOST READ NEWSPAPER. _
Meier Steinbrink was born on Feb 28 1880, in New York City. In 1932 after a distinguished career as an attorney, he was elected to the State Supreme Court bench and was reelected in 1945. He served until 1957 when he was designated a special referee by the Appellate Division, the stateâs highest court. He held a lifelong interest in interreligious relations and as early as 1910, he served as counsel for Catholic and Protestant church interests in litigation in the city and Long Island. He was active in a variety of local Jewish and general causes as well.
Back of card is divided and is postmarked 1912. Condition is good but does have some minor image loss at the very bottom border of the card as shown. Please note, the watermark is not on this vintage postcard you are buying.
