CHAU3354 Antique 148 hand signed letter from Robert Menzies, former Australian Prime Minister, to Dr Elston Grey Turner (a historic doctor - please see below) who has sent this letter direct from Australia House on the headed paper with crest on the paper too, as he thanks the doctor for his kind letter and comments of his recent television broadcast and sends him his greetings. It is mildly aged with occasional handling in places and centrally folded where posted, so graded vg minus to vg overall condition - It is personally hand signed by Robert Menzies below the message in blue fountain pen and has real character .You will never get a better or earlier autograph opportunity for Robert Menzies than his own headed paper from the 1940s.
_This has come from the private collection from the estate of Doctor Elston Grey-Turner CBE MC TD (16 August 1916 20 January 1984) who was a British medical doctor who served in World War II and was on the staff of the British Medical Association for many years. He joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and served as regimental medical officer to the 2nd Battalion of the Coldstream Guards 19421945. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration, and also the Military Cross._

He was the member of parliament (MP) for the Victorian division of Kooyong from 1934 to 1966. He is the longest-serving prime minister in Australian history
