Rppc locarno switzerland ww1 political conference real photo postcard (1925) rppc locarno switzerland ww1 political conference real photo postcard (1925) click images to enlarge description very attractive and historic studio real photo postcard for political conference in locarno, switzerland held october 5-16, 1925 and showing chamberlain (england), mussolini (italy), scialoia (italy), luther (germany), stresseman (germany), vandervelde (belgium), skrzinsky (poland), benes (czechoslovakia), briand (france), & rusca (switzerland) the card has autopen/ autographs that were incorporated as part of the card, not signed by the delegates on the card. Salle de la conference locarno handstamp on reverse. According to wikipedia (more at site) the locarno treaties were seven agreements negotiated at locarno, switzerland, during 5 to 16 october 1925 and formally signed in london on 1 december, in which the first world war western european allied powers and the new states of central and eastern europe sought to secure the post-war territorial settlement, in return for normalising relations with the defeated german reich (the weimar republic). It also stated that germany would never go to war with the other countries. Locarno divided borders in europe into two categories: western, which were guaranteed by the locarno treaties, and eastern borders of germany with poland, which were open for revision. Unsent, divided back with light corner bumping & toning. Very fine condition. (any streaks on the reverse side of the card are from the scanner and not on the actual card.) base shipping is $2.00 domestic and $3.00 international. Purchases at/over $49.95 must be insured.
