SMATZN A large collectors mounted (adhered to card so cannot be removed) 10" x 8" photo of Sir Peter Parker former chairman of British Rail during the 1980s personally autographed where his signature rests perfectly accompanying his portrait in mint condition.
On the reverse is a letter from the Chief Constable's Office for John Alderson CBE famous policeman from the 1980s who was awarded the Queen's Police Medal (QPM) in 1974 and appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1981. This a great double autograph opportunity. John Alderson's signature is very hard to find and you will never source better than on his official office headed paper from 1982.
_Sir Peter Parker KBE LVO (30 August 1924 28 April 2002) was a British businessman and chairman of the British Railways Board from 1976 to 1983 .Succeeding Sir Richard Marsh, Parker was appointed Chairman of British Rail in 1976 by the Labour Government and continued to serve during the Premiership of Margaret Thatcher. He guided the organisation through difficult times to the beginnings of the resurgence in train travel in the United Kingdom. He was succeeded in 1983 by the vice-chairman, Robert Reid. Parker died on 28 April 2002 from a suspected heart attack while on a trip to Turkey_
