Item Description

A framed and original printer's proof set of cards which was created to commemorate the 1939 Nuremberg rally. The 19.5 in x 21.5 in. card stock sheet features three vibrant rows of five different cards (15 total), each 4 in. x 5.5 in. Scenes on the cards include the layout of the rally area at Nuremberg, German soldiers standing in front of a Nazi Eagle, a Hitler youth hoisting a Nazi Flag, a Nazi Flag in front of a castle, and finally Nazi flags in front of the Reichstag. These cards were never circulated nor cut from the original sheet as the 1939 Nuremberg Rally was canceled due to the outbreak of the war. The back of the stock sheet features an unknown printed painting with the signature of Hungarian artist Hans Bogojevic, likely imposed due to paper shortages so as not to waste the paper. These cards only became known when the Berlin Wall was taken down, as they were stored in old East Germany. Many were damaged in the bottom right-hand corner and are rare in this condition and in the complete sheet. I have only seen 4 or 5 advertised for sale in the last 20 years a real ultra rare gem for any Third Reich collector and in excellent condition as per the scans.
