U.S. Naval base military soldier's mail ww1 children packard cars postcard 1919 u.S. Naval base military soldier's mail ww1 children packard cars postcard 1919 click images to enlarge description very attractive and historic postcard. Sent by john hartnett u.S.N.B. H. #5 to his father in brooklyn, new york. Probably sent in 1918 as the free franking privledge didn't start until october 2017. Interesting usage and message! According to wikipedia: base hospital no. 5 was organized by harvard university and was one of six american expeditionary forces (aef) base hospitals loaned to the british expeditionary forces (bef) during the first world war. The personnel started in camiers at general hospital no. 11 in june 1917 and then moved to general hospital no. 13, at boulogne-sur-mer to finish out the war. Sent c. 1918 soldier's mail, divided back with some corner bumping/wear & toning. Fine condition. Shipping is $2.00 domestic and $3.00 international. Purchases at/over $49.95 must be insured.
