This postcard depicting the u.S.N.S. Private william h. Thomas (t-ap185) was franked with a red violet lincoln issue from the 1954 liberty series (scott # 1036) tied by a purple u.S. Army postal service apo 109 machine cancel and mailed to south portland, maine in 1955.Content appears to be from brothers serving on the ship, who had just arrived at germany: "some boat we came over on, huh? It is the second smallest in the navy."
