Item Description
VICTORIAN TRADE CARD, LAVINE SOAP, GRADE 4.Victorian Trade Cards first appeared in the 1870s and were the first early and color advertising in America. People saved the images in scrap books as a hobby and so printers went out of their way to make them artistically interesting. Trade cards remained on the scene for decades, but the heyday for them was during the 1880s and 1890s. They are a picture window into what life was like 140 years ago in America.
I Grade the Cards Accordingly:
Grade 1: A beautiful card with no major flaws, clean and crisp. May show minor wear, but the colors are vibrant.
Grade 2: A solid card with no major flaws but will show more wear. There may be some residue glue on reverse and some minor markings that do no interfere with the card.
Grade 3: A solid card that may have minor bends or creases. No rips or tears.
Grade 4: A card that shows wear or damage.
