This vintage postcard features an illustration of George Washington's surveying office, located on the Washington Farm, opposite Fredericksburg, Virginia. Known as the "Ferry Farm," this site is historically significant as the location where Augustine Washington, George Washington's father, passed away in 1743. The card highlights the only building remaining, said to have been used by George Washington at 11 years old as a workshop while learning surveying. Published by R.A. Kishpaugh, Fredericksburg, Virginia, this postcard was produced by Genuine Curteich-Chicago and remains unused with a divided back. It is numbered "2A391."
